squirm or pull away still attached to nipple while nursing. i have been struggling with a crack/bleeding/chunk missing (tmi) nipple for 4 weeks, and it's finally getting better. now that i've been weaning off the use of my nipple shield, it seems like she squirms and pulls more then ever. she does it on the other side too. it makes nursing really painful and i find both of us getting frustrated. i am getting so discouraged, between feeding all the time with sore nipples and the pulling/yarding and squirming. it's getting hard. i really wouldn't mind nursing every 2 hrs but i'm so sore from every other feeding.
Re: Why would little one do this?
This is what I've found. If it's at the beginning, I sit back in a reclined position on the couch and it seems to help. In the middle or towards the end, he usually needs to burp or even just hang out upright for a few minutes and let everything settle.
Although, lately, his last feed before bed sometimes he gets fussy, and I believe it's a teething issue.
