Has anyone had Group B Strep in their previous pregnancies ? If so what Normally happens when you go into labor ? All they told me is that I would be getting Antibotic's during labor and I've heard that they have to watch the baby closely the first few days.I'm 37 weeks now and she also said that i'm 3 cm 50 % effaced -1/-2 station......

I never had it with either of my pregnancies but my OB told me that if I had tested positive I would need IV antibiotics within 4 hours of my water breaking.  She also said I would need IV antibiotics with a c-section delivery.

I had it with my first, (negative this time around) but they just hooked me up and I got two doses of penicillin before he was born. My OB never told me that I had to come in at a certain time, just that both doses needed to be given while I was in labor before he was born. However if you do miss one or both of them, they will give the baby antibiotics after just to be safe.

I tested GBS+ with my first pregnancy (we're just assuming that I am with this one as well).   It's pretty much just antibiotics during labor.. I think every 4 hours.   Baby is monitored closely after delivery but that's about it.

The most amusing part that I remember from last time is that they wrote it on the white board in my labor room in HUGE letters.   I get that it's important, but it's not like it's HIV or something!
