GD, does insurance cover meter or strips?

It's official I have gestational diabetes.  I have to take a GD class at the hospital where they'll go over nutrition and how to use the strips and monitor the blood sugar.  Did your insurance cover the meter and strips or is it usually out of pocket?  I have no idea what these things cost.

    I didn't have GD, but I did have to test my levels when I was on the PICC and my insurance did cover everything. I had UPMC at the time.

    My insurance covered it all but I think I only got a certain amount of strips.
