Anyone NOT felt BH yet?

I'm almost 39 weeks and I think I have had only a couple contractions that I've felt, and even those were months ago and I was not entirely convinced they were contractions.  Anyone else not feel any yet?  I'm hoping I know what they are when they happen.  The doc said once I start to have BH more often (or, at all) I'll start progressing, and, probably like everyone else, I am ready to progress!

Re: Anyone NOT felt BH yet?

  • I have talked to a few people that said they never felt a bh with their pregnancy... Maybe this will be the case with you?

  • Not in 2 pregnancies so far. I progressed on my own and had DS early last time with no BH.  I think some people just don't feel them, even if our body is having them.

  • I never felt any with dd.  When I was hooked up in the hospital though they said I was having them, I just couldn't feel it.

This pregnancy though is one big huge BH and started around 34 weeks.

  • I haven't had any either. In one way it's a blessing, but I kinda wish I had a better sense of what contractions feel like.

  • I've had some very ocassional (once a week or so) cramping in my lower abdomen, but not a single full uteran contraction (BH or otherwise), at least not that I'm aware of.

  • I haven't had any yet either, which seems really weird, but I had an NST on Tuesday and they didn't pick up any so it's not even just that I'm not feeling them- I'm really not having any! Crazy but good I guess.

I agree....with DS I never had (or felt) a single BH. With this pregnancy I have had them daily since about 26 weeks. I told my OB this and she said I most likely had them with DS but didn't know it, that often first pregnancies, women have them but don't know it.
