Question about Flips AI2

Could I use prefolds that are one size down as inserts?  I'm not a fan of microfiber.  I do plan on buying prefolds and hemp inserts in the correct size, just curious if I can get more use out of these prefolds that are getting just a bit snug on him.

I haven't started CD yet, but I asked a friend who uses flips who said prefolds as inserts are fine.  I actually have a couple flip organic inserts as well as newborn prefolds, and they are the same size.  I suspect the organic inserts might be more absorbant, and they didn't quilt when I prepped them like the prefolds did.  Otherwise I don't see much of a difference between them.

You can use prefolds.  I just bought some prefolds for my Flips and to add to my pockets.  They are supposedly very absorbent.

I have flips and have actually never used the stay dry inserts that came with them.  I just tri-fold my econobum PFs.
