Is this a bad idea? (job related)

Would you sign up to take a civil service exam that is 10 days before your due date?  When I think back to being pregnant with Jules, I definitely could have taken a test 10 days prior to being due.  I was induced with her a week early so if the same thing were to happen, I would be having a baby 3 days later.  I would really like to wait and see how I feel and see if any issues pop up this time but I have to submit everything by 1/11.  I guess it's probably worth signing up and just being out the $15 if I can't make it.

  • It's probably worth being out the $15 in the off chance that you can't make it. On the other hand, I took a civ svc exam last year in October and got all excited when my score arrived, thinking woohoooooo a job is just around the corner. Um, no. I am still jobless! But if the test is only $15, go for it! and good luck!

  • If the worst thing that happens is that you lose $15 I say go for it. It may be hard to find the time after the baby is born. I was working full time with both kids right up until my due dates...although I SAH now but I am all for getting stuff done right up to the last minute when prenant.

  • I would do it. It would probably be easier to manage before your due date than after with a newborn/lack of sleep.

  • Go for it!  Especially because not all civil service exams come out often.

THIS! You definitely won't want to do it with a new baby at home, plus maybe it will help the time go quicker at the end, just another thing to plan on...
