Baby Names

Baby Girl Names

I am now 37 weeks pregnant and DH and I can't decide on a name. We want to use one or more of our mothers' names (DH's mom (Kathleen Margaret)died when he was 8, and my mother's name (Elizabeth) is also my middle name and both of my grandmothers' middle names). They are:

 Margaret

Elizabeth

Kathleen

I don't mind naming with a formal name, but I would like to call her something shorter (ex: Margaret= Maggie).

Any help? What are some nicknames for the above names?

Here are some of the combos that I am thinking about-

Margaret (Maggie)  Elizabeth

Elizabeth Kathleen

Kathleen Elizabeth

TIA!

  • margaret can also go peggy - so careful there. also denis the menis comes to mind. https://www.dennisthemenace.com/margaret.html

i vote elizabeth - you get beth or liz.or lizbeth.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I haven't thought about Dennis the Menace in a long, long time.  LOL.  I honestly wouldn't worry about anyone making that connection.  I really really like Margaret (Maggie) Elizabeth.

  • My husband has a cousin named Margaret, but she goes by Meg - super cute!  I've heard Liz and Beth for Elizabeth, but prefer Beth.  I like all your name choices - very classic and timeless!

  • My grandmother's name is Margaret and she goes by Peggy... I never really understood where that nickname came from.  I love Maggie though. Margaret Elizabeth gets my vote.
