CD ? - replacing velcro?

Have any of you ever replaced the velcro on your CDs? I am sure it can be done, but I am wondering if there is a tutorial or anything I could look at. I sort of feel like I might be getting in over my head for this...

Re: CD ? - replacing velcro?

  • I did a few, but then I bought a snap press (well, pliers) and started replacing the velcro with snaps (what I prefer). Ripping the old velcro off is the most tedious part!

  • I've never personally done it, but I have heard of people who have used convertmydiapers.com. It's a service that replaces the velcro with snaps for like $3-4 per diaper. Do you put yours in the dryer? I have heard that can significantly reduce the life of the velcro. We hang dry ours and with the exception of a couple diapers, they still look great after 2+ years.

Yes, yes I do (hangs head in shame). I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to until the damage was done and now it is just in awful shape. The onesies help hold them together and keep them on but it is just sad really.

  • We did the same thing. Dryer is just so convenient! I got a snap press and started converting them one at a time. You use BG? They have a replacement kit for aplix. The only thing I think would be hard is getting in the pocket to see that big strip.
