I was admitted to the hospital on November 1 for IC. After eight weeks of bed rest, Lucy Tatum- named for my maternal grandmother and my husband's maternal grandmother- entered the world in a dramatic fashion. While I will save the details for a longer birth story post, I will say that being in the hospital already was the greatest blessing when she decided to make her way into the world.
Lucy was born at 2:05 pm on December 20, weighing 2 lb and 10 oz, 14.5 inches long. She's doing very well, graduating from the ventilator day one and breathing completely on her own by day three. Lucy's cranial ultrasound is normal, her feedings are increasing every nine hours- there is much to celebrate.
I know that we have a long road ahead before we bring our sweet girl home. I look foward to sharing with each of you through the ups and downs.
Re: Welcome, Lucy! xp from High Risk
Congrats on your baby!! Hope she continues to do well. It is definitely a long road, but it is great to have this board where ladies are so supportive. My twins were born at 27w5d. DD came home after 10 weeks, but my son is still there at 19 wks old. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about NICU stays.
Good luck!!
and after 82 days in the NICU, our little girl is home!
