My mom and I were talking baby names. I mentioned the name Gavin was high on my list - to which she responded, it's ok I just don't like new and trendy names. Mind you Gavin originated in the 17th Century and doesn't seem to be a super popular name - seems right now to sit around #30. It came back on the charts in the early 50s (the year she was born actually).
She then follows up suggestion....JAYDEN
Yes that's right - according to my mom, Gavin is too new and trendy (mind you my DD is Kaylee) - but Jayden is a completely acceptable name!
Re: Oh mom...
Most of her other suggestions were very 1980's i.e. Jennifer.
She also suggested Logan (for a girl) - and again a fairly popular name choice FOR A BOY (more so than Gavin) - but it is actually on my boy name list.
Another suggestion was Brooke/Brooklyn - which I do like - but I'm concerned that my husbands name is Cliff, which would mean we'd have a Cliff and a Brooke in our home. (maybe it's just odd to me?)
Haha, this exactly.
