We swaddle just his legs so he can't roll over at night. And he hasn't yet. And he sleeps fabulously. One thing we've tried is to tuck the blankets tightly to the sides of the crib - that has worked too, but not as well. If you're set on not swaddling, that might be a good alternative.

Most people aren't putting blankets in the baby's crib until they're a year old based on AAP recommendations.
We stopped swaddling at 3 months because we couldn't find a single type of swaddle blanket or method that she couldn't break out of. Plus, she started rolling herself to her tummy to sleep at 3 months, 3 weeks.
Look into the Merlins magic sleep suit. We used that to wean DS from swaddling and it worked great. Now he's almost 7 months and doesn't need it anymore. GL!

I wouldn't worry too much about it...I would say that if the swaddle is still working and letting your daughter sleep well at night, don't mess with it. It was at about 5 1/2 months that my LO started breaking out of his swaddle every night, and that was how we knew he didn't need it anymore. We started using a Halo sleep sack about this time and it still works great for us. It is roomy, so gives him plenty of range of motion...he can roll over, sit up, and even crawl while wearing it...but still gives him another layer to keep him warmer at night.
swaddling was great until our son could get out of the swaddle. him fighting it interrupted his sleep and once he started being able to roll over (5 months) we swaddled just his legs, and kept his arms out. about one month later, we got rid of the swaddle all together. we had other problems then - he could roll onto his stomach but couldnt rollback lol thse were some exhausting nights, waking to his cries to be flippee back over, only for him to flip again in another hr or two and cry again! but as other parents told us, that too, passed. good luck!
I never swaddled consistently, but A is swaddled for naps at DC. I will swaddle him i he's over-tired and wired, which is rare. If I were you, I'd continue swaddling if it keeps LO happy.

Have you tried one arm out? Good luck!
