Since we are all trying to nest and get things done with Christmas and move on to our next big "event" (or so it seemed in one of the posts below), what is your to-do list looking like for when the baby arrives?
I still need to lug in all the big stuff that has been stored in the garage, like the swing, bouncy seat, etc. we also need to install the infant seat in the car. I am sure there are a bazillion other things but that's just what popped into my head.
Oh yeah I also wanted to get gifts for the girls to give to each other.
Dd picked out a stuffed giraffe for ds. She was so cute carrying it thru the store saying it was for baby Clayton. I was skeptical at first bc I figured she would just pick out something she liked, but she has never been into giraffes. She has informed me that Clayton is bringing her train tracks. She never even came up with anything specific she wanted from Santa, but now she does!
I still need to get the nursery cleared out, buy nipples and binkies, wash and bring up the gear from the basement, and of course pack my bag.
Ohhh I need to make an actual list to see what the heck we need to work on. J is moving to a new room so that room really just needs to be painted, and that should be getting done right now but DH is taking a nap and I don't feel like doing it right now either. I'm telling him that it has to be done tomorrow though because I want to get her in there this week. Her old room is the baby's room and basically the only things that need to be changed is the wall art. I need to order a window gate for the new room since there's a huge wall to ceiling window in there and my kid is crazy. There's always the task of sorting through endless totes of clothes. A few weeks before I'm due I plan to drag out the big baby stuff so that maybe it won't be so "interesting" by the time the baby comes. Pack a diaper bag at some point.
I know that I have some things on my list to do before the baby comes but they aren't really baby related, like re-organize the kitchen, organize my closet, clean the back room. All kinds of fun stuff!
Charlotte is also moving into a new room, so I need to clean out the closet in that room (which currently has our too big/summer hand-me-downs in it) and move Charlotte's things in there. I need to set up her "big girl" bed and get a gate to put both at the top of the stairs and in her doorway. I want to move the old computer desk out of there as well. I have shades on the windows, but eventually I would like some curtains in our house. Also, I need to prime and paint her new dresser which is sanded and waiting in our garage.
For the nursery, once I move everything of Charlotte's out of there, I would just like to clean really well, get everything vacuumed and scrubbed and pull out all my gender neutral clothes to wash. And clean out that closet as well!
1. Move Paul into Charlie's room. There is a wall in there that needs to get painted. He needs a twin mattress & DH is going to build him a bed (we're still debating bunk beds, but I'm not sure I trust Paul quite yet). Oh and if Paul decided to start STTN that'd be helpful (still a crappy sleeper at 19 months old!)
2. Put the nursery back together. The crib is torn apart, all of Paul's stuff is in there. Hopefully it won't take long to regain order in there. I also need to get all my gear back from my friend's mom- I lent them all of my stuff, but I have no clue where it is going to go in our house now...
3. Order/buy birth supplies. There is a list my MW has & I haven't even looked at it this pregnancy (I mostly remember what is on there from last time and may even have a few things still). I *do* have my birth pool rental set up though!
4, Wash things. This won't take very long (I hope). 1 load of newborn diapers, 1 load of "gear" stuff (carseat cover, swing cover, etc.) and probably 1 load of gender neutral clothes.
