Babies and colds this time of year - wwyd?

So poor DS seriously has had colds on and off for the last month, at least. I took him to the doctor a week and a half ago, where they checked his ears, listened to his chest, etc. and said it's just a cold and ride it out since there is nothing they can do.

Here we are - a week and a half later, and he's still so snotty (runny nose, green boogery mess - all dried up in the morning when I get him up), coughing (sounds productive), not sleeping great (up every few hours from coughing, and taking a long time to settle down after nursing). Oof.

Do I run him back to the doctor? Do I keep riding it out? I think I'll call the nurseline, but wondered if anyone else was dealing with this right now and it's just one of those time of year things.

You could take him so they can check his ears again.  Otherwise, my cold regimen is:

Humidifier

Sit in the bathroom with the shower on hot and nurse at the same time to clear out the nose

Saline/suction

Sleep on an incline (rock n play is great for this)

Baby vicks on the feet

Just curious- why on the feet?

We're battling this too right now. I have the vicks baby rub (nonmedicated) and I put it on her chest at bedtime. Going to try the shower technique soon as well.
