2nd Trimester

Anyone else keep running into things with your car?

Please tell me I'm not the only one! I have backed up into 1 car per week for the past three weeks! Well one I scraped pulling into a spot. I have just been scratching them but the first was a Porsche, the 2nd was a BMW (he didnt want to take action) and then my husband is car sitting an Acura TSX and it is parked in out driveway. It's a tight squeeze and I didn't turn wide enough.

I was talking to my Dad this morning and he told me my Mom used to back into poles, walls and other stuff when she was pregnant.

I'm not having a good month.

  • I've never heard of car sitting. I haven't done this while pg but I do go in phases where I run into everything for a while. I suggest you travel near cheaper cars for a few weeks. ;)

If I were you I would stop driving.  This sounds dangerous, and expensive. I would also talk to your doctor about it - if your coordination is that off, perhaps there is something that needs to be looked at.

    Completely agreed.

If this was a common pregnancy symptom, every baby in the world would be without a nursery because momma had to pay the insurance deductible. Not normal.

  • I had a small fender bender last week.  I don't think it was my pregnancy brain but rather a combination of the other person speeding through a parking lot and me backing out and couldn't see him.  Maybe your depth perception is a little off during this pregnancy?

  • Hmm... the only thing close to that for me was when I was driving home from my 12-week ultrasound. I was so happy that I nearly ran off the road several times and turned the wrong way up a one-way street. I was in such a state of ecstasy I could have mowed down a Granny on the side of the road for all I know!

  • I did hit a post in our carport last week but I don't blame pregnancy brain, my car hit solid ice going around a tight corner into the spot and the back end fish-tailed out and dinged the side. It could've happened to anyone.

  • I dont totally blame it on pregnancy brain or my coordination. I do think I may be a bit scattered though. The sad thing is is that like yesterday I was really trying hard NOT to hot the car and I still did. I havent been in any sort of accident in about 7 years.

  • I have heard that your vision can change during pregnancy, maybe you should have it checked.  I also know fatigue can be a factor in accidents.  GL in the future!
