2 yo boy training

What do you think about training my ds. He struggles with talking and will sit sometimes but won't go despite waiting. My dh refuses to do naked training because he doesn't want him  " peeing everywhere". I don't know how or when to start. I am a teaching mom so do I wait until summer?? Or can I do it while I'm working?  Help Tia

We are in the process of PTing our boys who are almost 2. We did use the naked butt weekend and it worked great. I have to say that I don't think we could have done it without the naked weekend though. We confined them to the kitchen/living room but tried to keep our activities for the day in the kitchen so it wasn't actually that messy. 

I'm sure that other people have been successful without a naked butt weekend, but at this age, I can't imagine trying to train the boys using pull-ups or something.  I don't think they would get it.

We also did the naked training over a 3 day weekend when DS was 22 months old. It worked great for us.  I put blankets and water proof pads down on the family room floor and that's where we hung out.  It wasnt as messy as I thought it would be.
