Just trying to figure out if I should be doing something different with solids or continue and just increase portions slowly for now.
Day currently looks approximately like this:
9:00 Cereal (about 6tbsps)
12:00 Fruit (about 6tbsps)
5:00 Veggie (about 6tbsps- sometimes mixed with applesauce if he doesn't like it)
8:00 Cereal (about 6tbsps)
He nurses about 8-10 times a day between all this.
Should I be introducing a fruit at breakfast with the cereal and a veggie at lunch with the fruit etc or is this okay for now? My province (Ontario) is very loose in their guidelines for feeding solids so I'm really unsure what's 'good'.
Re: Solids- Sorry sure this is a repeat post
Go by what you feel is best.
Abby has 3 meals a day and eats approx 2 to 3 ozs of food with her bottles. I usually mix about 3 teaspoons of cereal and also give a fruit or veggie, but I don't do cereal with evey meal. Sometimes we have a yogurt for breakfast. Dinner is usually a meat with a veggie and fruit.
My Birth Story
As other ppl said - do what you think is best. I know I try to give DD typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner stuff. I just try to make sure that she always has some sort of finger food and puree.
Typical breakfast will consist of cheerios (or if it's the weekend I'll cook up some eggs - and this weekend I've been horrible and let her have some stollen to celebrate the holidays) with a fruit puree of some sort with yogurt. Lunch will be some cheerios or puffs with some cheese and either fruit or veggie puree. Dinner will be veggie puree with cheese and/or cheerios. HTH!

Looks good to me.
My poor baby gets solids twice a day.
I was only doing once a day when I started at 5.5 months but my nurse practitioner (I don't see a doctor or ped) told me to feed him solids 4x a day because at 6 months he was still nursing every hour during the day. After a couple weeks to get used to the solids he gives me some 3 hour breaks which is a nice relief.
