Re: Merry Christmas! How was your day?

  • Merry Christmas!

we had a fun two days. M was so into handing out the presents x-mas eve and x-mas day! he had little interest in opening any x-mas eve but came out strong x-mas morning at home. he didn't open them all, in fact we still have two he hasn't opened yet. at my moms he was totally uninterested in opening any, but he was still into handing them out, this carried out into the night at my in-laws. we left my parents out with most of his unopened, he can open them later in the week.

M is loving his little Einsteins pat-pat rocket (that i spent a small fortune on so i guess it was worth it) most of the characters have been hanging out in the bat cave DH bought him or on the pirate ship. he's also been very into the v-tech keyboard-dj- music thing we got him, and the FP camera has been a huge hit (check out my video on fb), and he has been getting better at using the remote on the big construction site's dump truck.

  • I forgot to respond to my own post. We had a really great weekend but super crazy and hectic. Friday night on a spur of a moment we decide to go to the Festival of Lights...probably not the best idea when we had to get up early the next morning to get to my parents house for breakfast and for my family's Christmas celebration, but we really had a good time and are glad we did it. We want to go back again next year. The North Pole Village is super cute, and the Santa there was a really good one. Real beard and all. The next day we were at my parent's house. My nephew is 3 months younger than T so it's always entertaining and kind of chaotic for Christmas together. We went to DH's family for brunch today, which left only about an hour for T to open some gifts before having to leave for brunch. I think she was on present overload, so I think it ended up working out well for a break, and a nap in between opening gifts. T loved all of her gifts. Funny thing she probably would have been happy with only 2 gifts, and the most simple ones.

  • It was so fun with both kids this year, we are truly blessed.  My favorite part was having a shredded paper fight with Evan with the filling from one of the gifts my Mom gave us...it was a blast and there was shredded paper EVERYWHERE :).  The only part that stunk was that DH had to work last night, but next year he has to work Christmas Day, so I guess this was not too bad.

  • Merry Christmas! Our Christmas was pretty low key b/c DH had to work. We got up early and we had bought B a big bouquet of balloons. Once she saw those, she didn't want much to do with her gifts:) we opened some and she just wanted the balloons. My family came over last night so B was so interested in playing with her cousins that she wanted nothing to do with gifts. Well, needless to say, we will try opening her gifts again tonight. It's funny, give her balloons and her cousins and I think that made her Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

  • Merry Christmas!

Our day was great. Evan slept in, and I had to wake him up because we were so excited. He didn't want to get out of bed so I said "do you want mom to go check if Santa came?" then he tore the covers off and jumped out of bed sooo fast!

He loved all his gifts, but he's at the age where he would open something and want to play with it that moment and wouldn't want to open any others.

He didn't nap, and was passed out in the car on the way home by 7:30. Only downside is he was up at 7am today... when I was up until almost 2 watching movies w/ DH!

Round 2 today w/ my mom's extended family! I don't think we can fit anything else in our house!

  • We celebrated with my family on Christmas Eve.  We ate dinner and then opened gifts.  My parents got Stella a book case full of books, which she loved.  She also got an art easle/desk.

We had a great day!  DH & I were both up before the kids so I got breakfast going.  The ILs came up around 7:30 and Stella had just started to wake up.  We ate and I fed Audrey when she woke up.  Then we all went downstairs to open gifts.  Stella loved her Barbie 4-wheeler and she got a bunch of Dinosaur Train dinos with a train track.  She was very excited about the raisins and toothbrush in her stocking, too!

We went to DH's grandparents and opened gifts.  Stella got the huge floor piano, like the one from the movie "Big" and some play food and pots & pans for her kitchen.  She got another art easle, too!

Where we're going to put all of this stuff I have no idea!

  • Merry Christmas!

We had a good but busy couple of days.  Our first Christmas with FIL & step-MIL was on Friday night, and it was here so that somewhat helped.  We went to my MIL and step-FIL's on Sat, which was low key but still overwhelming because I swear people forget what it's like to have a toddler.  Jules didn't nap until 5 pm, which was a blast, and then didn't fall asleep until 11 that night.  We woke up on Sunday and opened presents here (her favorite gifts were toothbrushes and crayons, ha), then got on the road to go to my parents.  We got there around 10 am and did breakfast and presents with my sister's family.  Then we had dinner with my extended family and did gifts too.  Jules was tired from everything but at least she took a nap there.  I can't wait to get back on a schedule! Oh and to get this house cleaned up, it looks like a tornado went through the place.

Overall this was a really lowkey Christmas for us, usually we do MIL and my parents on the same day.   There were some hard parts though, I started to cry when opening gifts because there was one for the new baby from my grandma, who passed away about 1.5 months ago.  It was super sweet but I just couldn't hold it back.  And last night I got hit with a stomach bug which just makes me nervous because that was the start of cholestasis when I was pregnant with Jules, just about 2 weeks further along than I am now.  There is probably no correlation but I can't help but think about the what if.  So I will just keep repeating, "it's not going to happen, not going to happen."

  • We did Christmas Eve at the inlaws and got there around 12:30. It went really well, Charlotte was able to take a nap for a bit, and generally was a very good girl. My MIL went completely overboard w our gifts and the food - she gave me a gift card to BRU so I could get a glider for $350, plus other gifts!!  We got home around 9:30 and Charlotte had a hard time going down to bed but eventually she have up. This was the first time we've not done Christmas morning at my mom's house and I really missed not being there for Christmas Eve w my dad's family and not being there in the morning to all go to church together. But I got up around 7 and made tater tot casserole and chocolate waffle batter and then woke up Charlotte and DH around 8. We did gifts and ate - Charlotte was completely uninterested in opening presents but liked them once they were open. She loved her waffle tho. Then we packed up and headed to my mom's to do gifts there. We opened gifts and went to my grandma's because I thought of we got there before everyone else, I could lay Charlotte down to get a nap in. She stayed iny grandma's room singin and talking to herself for almost an hour before she finally gave up but since she was not crying I just left her. I think my cousin from OOT was judging me about how I was with her, because she is very much a hoverer and I am not. Plus there were 20 adults spread the house, all of whom are used to C being around, so I was just letting her explore and enjoy. Overall, everything went really well and C was in good spirits. She hasn't really had a chance to play w her toysuch yet bc we've been running all over god's green earth but she seemed to really enjoy her drums so far.
