I've always found that term kind of demeaning. Now that DD is a year old and toddling around the room, it's just not correct. No real reason for this post--it just gets on my nerve every time I see the top of the screen.
I agree. There are a million other things they could have called it and they chose The Bump? Not only is it stupid but I find it highly insensitive to some of the boards that make up "the bump."
So I am just now getting it, the nest changed their name to the bump? Yuck, why?
You know I work for a company that owns another website and I will say that we communicated to the users far in advance the change of the name, how to use the new site, benefits, helped people if they had log in problems, etc.
It is kind of irritating to me that nothing was communicated to us via email, on the boards, etc about the change coming up, what the new format has in store, etc. That might have been really helpful.
It's especially dumb when you consider that having "a bump" is only temporary (unless you're Michelle Duggar). Most of those boards on the side are either pre-pregnancy or post-pregnancy with the exception of the Trimester boards. It's just so asinine.
Heheheh Megan...yeah the Poop takes the winner for the most idiotic name.
The term bump is so trendy I can't imagine in 5 years the term will still be relevant but by then the creators that be will have changed the website a couple times anyways, I'm sure.
I hate the name too. Why didn't they call it the cradle or something of that nature? I am not a fan of the avatars either. I changed mine when the 0-6 board went with the new format.

i think it's stupid b/c "bump" refers to a belly, not a baby... this board isn't just for pregnant people, so it doesn't really make sense.
