So... it's been a little while for me, since I've been around a baby Mila's age on a constant basis, as my original "baby" is now 3 years old... but has anyone elses' LO started mimicking things in one way or another yet?
Every time I tell Mila "Hi", I wave with my right hand, opening and closing my fingers. The past two days, she's starting to do it when I do it. (But only with her left hand, since my right is her left when she sees me do it.) Talk about adorable! I thought it was just a fluke at first, but she does it for DH too, as long as you say "Hiiii" when you wave!
On another exciting, but also slightly sad moment... she's officially holding her bottles, all the way. She's been trying for a couple weeks, but she finally figured out that she has to tip it up higher as she drinks, so she can eat all of it. She also has figured out her sippy cup. =( Yet she's not sitting up completely unassisted yet. Babies are so funny!
EDIT: I might be more specific in my question by saying/asking: babies mimicking actual movements and such, instead of just noises and facial expressions. She's been doing noises and such for ages... but this is the first "physical" thing she's really, truly mimicked from Daddy or I.
Re: Mimicking?
Last week I was cutting Avery's nails and she just watched me the whole time instead of squirming like usual. When I was done, she reached for the clippers. I let her have them and she started touching the clippers to each finger on her opposite hand. I couldn't believe it. It was the cutest thing.
I am not ready for her to master the bottle... I feel for you. LOL.
