DD has all her teeth including molars minus the canine teeth.
At her 15 mo check up her pedi said that these are the WORST and take up to a month to come in.
In the last few nights, she's been up a lot and whiney during the day. She has started a round of antibiotics for an ear infection that can seem like teething but in this case has just gotten worse and worse.
My question is, in a healthy (no ear infection) toddler how did your LO fare in the canine teething realm?
a. It was hell!
b. LO was uncomfy but motrin/tylenol, cold/frozen tethers solved it
c. wow, there are canines in there? When did that happen?
d. Special snowflake
Re: Teething the canines, is it really hell? (non-clicky poll)
B. LO was uncomfy
She didn't need tylenol, but she has started to put her fingers in hr mouth a lot more since the canines are coming in. They are taking a very long time to come in fully, too...def longer than the others.

Definitely the worst teething for us.
Those little SOB's are taking FOREVER to come in. It's been over a month. It sucks because he is clearly uncomfortable.
I just figured out the other day that I think this is why DS has been whinier than normal over the last week or so and waking up really early again. I thought it wasfrom the flu booster shot he'd gotten plus a little cold he had picked up at daycare (and that probably didn't help), but he's been a drooling/chewing madman again and I finally got him to open up wide enough yesterday to see that at least the top 2 are coming in at the same time, and possibly one of the bottom ones. Ouch!
For the record, DS has been a stealth teether...he'll get a bunch in at once and we usually only hear him whine a bit at night. So these are relatively rough, though he's still being a trooper about it.
He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

...big brother to...???? Due March 2014!
I vote B. DS was in much more pain than any of his other teeth, and it did take way longer for them to pop through once I felt them bulging. He also got all of his canines/1st year molars at the same time.
I wouldn't say it was hell, but it was definitely tough!
A. it was hell!
My DD doesn't have them yet. She has everything but and I'm dreading it. My DS was a great/easy teether, and DD has been the same. Maybe just a little extra fussy, clingy, and a low grade fever once or twice. No up all night issues.
My DS got them around 22 months. They all came in within one week (thank God!). In some ways I'm sure that is worse, but at least it wasn't drawn out. He didn't have problems sleeping, but was a little hellion during the day!

Finn recently cut a bottom canine. I thought it was hell, but turns out he actually has an ear infection. So, I'm not sure how bad they really are. Also, it came in super fast which I understand is not the norm.
I'll tell you what is bad - canines + a horrible cold + an ear infection. I'm pretty sure this is not what Finn wanted for Christmas.
