My husband and I were just discussing this name last night. It's his aunt's name, who we both adore, and I think it might be cute for a baby girl (we don't know what we're having yet). Does it sound "dated"? I guess I used to always think of Jane as an "older" person's name! I'd love to hear some opinions!

Thank you, everyone! The more I've thought about it, the more it's grown on me - and I'm glad to know I'm not alone in thinking it could be a great name! I so appreciate your feedback!
That's okay - I asked for opinions and that's what you gave

Exactly.
Love it. It's on our girl list.
My DD is named Jane! Her name is Jane Collett (mn is a family name, pronounced like Collette.)
I obviously love it as a first name but really dislike if it is used as a filler mn because I think that doesn't do it justice. I will say that I get tons of compliments on it and it really fits her. To me, Jane is not a boring name, it is spunky and firey and asthetically pleasing to hear and say. I think it is a great choice! We do sometimes call her Janey as well.
Halle was another one of the names we were thinking! I love that combination! Beautiful
I think it's a simple, classic, timeless name.
That said, like many other names which fall into that category, I personally find it boring.
I would never side eye someone for using it, though, and if it has meaning to you I think you should!
