Vicks ?

So under the advice of my pedi we used Vicks for the past two nights for chest congestion. Both nights he has woken up crying with a lot of nasal congestion. We couldn't figure out why. I did a google search about it and found this.

So Vicks can actually cause more congestion? I won't put it on lo tonight and will see if he does better, but in the meantime anyone ever hear or have this happen to them?

We used it on Abby last week and she was fine! We also put it on her feet with socks overnight. I don't know if it *really* works, but she STTN with her nasty cold. GL!

I've used it on DD's chest and feet all week & it definitely helps her through the night!

We use the Vicks Baby Rub (approved for babies 3 months and older) on his chest and it's fine. I think the adult version is not recommended for use on kids under 2 years (I think).

Babies can OD on menthol in the adult version. We use the baby version and it really helps.

I was told by my pedi not to use any vicks vapo rub on J. (baby version or not)

We have been using the baby rub. We won't use it tonight and I really hope that the vicks was the cause of the waking (just so I can get some much needed rest). Thanks for all of the input!
