Estrogen Rx and BFing?

Has anyone had any  experience taking estrogen supplements while BFing? My ob/gyn prescribed estrogen to help with continuing discomfort/pain in the lady castle after 10 wks post-partum. She said it was probably a result of lack of elasticity due to low estrogen levels while BFing so prescribed supplemental estrogen (via cream). I'm wondering if it will affect my supply? I imagine affects may be similar to estrogen containing birth control? I'm calling the doc back tomorrow to inquire but wondering if anyone else has taken estrogen while BFing?

I had Premarin cream for the same reason from about 6 weeks to 10 weeks.  I used as needed.  I didn't experience any supply dips and even put 75 oz into my freezer stash during this time for when I go back to work.  I have been eating oatmeal about every day, so that might be helping.  I'm not using the cream any more.  IMO, you should give it a shot because that discomfort is a real bummer and the cream helped me with no effect on supply.  Feel better soon!

Thanks ladies! Ive used it a couple times before it crossed my mind that it could impact supply. So far no supply issues and it seems to be making a noticeable difference in helping with pain. Hopefully I'll be able to keep usage to a minimum for a short period of time without it causing any issues but will proceed with caution. Thanks again!
