Freezing ?

I thought you could just pump and then store your milk....I try to get all the air out of the bag before sealing it. I just read some where that you should cool milk in fridge for 30 minutes before freezing! Do I need to throw away my stash?! What do you ladies know?! Thanks!

  • I never have had a problem putting it straight in the freezer.  Make sure that you rotate out your freezer stash often.  I learned the hard way and had to pitch aprox 1400 oz frozen bm due to excess lipase.
  • I EPd with DS#1 for a year and always just put it in the freezer right away.  Never had any problems with it.

I am pumping right now because DS#2 was born early and I'm doing the same, just freezing any extra it right away and not having any issues.
