Middle Name Help

I have posted before about the name Alessia for a girl.  Do you think this name will be mispronounced often?  We would pronounce it with a short e. Our second choice is Adriana.  We have a long italian last name.   More importantly can you give me input on our middle name choices? Which do you like best?  Thanks for your help!

Lucia

Juliet/Julietta

Nicoletta

Gabriella

Christiana

Re: Middle Name Help

  • When I read it, I read it with a short e: Uh-less-ee-uh (which I think is a cute name). If I am pronouncing it correctly, I like Juliet for a middle name of those choices because I don't like the a (uh) sound at the end of both the first and middle names, but that's just me.
  • Alessia is very pretty! As PP said, Alessia Juliet is my favourite because I dislike the -a endings of Alessia Lucia, Alessica Nicoletta etc. Same with Adriana.

  • Alicia? is that how you would say it?  I think when ppl have names that end in 'a"  they shouldn't do another ending in a name therefore for Adrianna (this spelt like that) I would do

    Adrianna Juliet

Or like Gabriella Juliet - a name we were thinking if we have a dd

    Or Alicia Juliet

The  way you spelt 'Alessia' I dunno how to say that - it seems confussing.  Trust me you want names that ppl KNOW how to say instead of the child always having to correct the name

Ditto. And I pronounced it like the first poster.

I don't see how the pronunciation of Alessia would be confusing. It in no way suggests the same pronunciation as Alicia. I wouldn't worry about pronunciation issues too much. I think most people would pronounce it exactly the way you intend. Besides, some people can screw up even the simplest of names.

It's a beautiful name. I actually like Adrianna, too, so you can't really go wrong. I agree with PP suggestion of Juliet for the middle name for each.
