I feel a little silly even posting this, because I am not pregnant. We're probably going to TTC in about six months, and we think we have a boy's name picked out - Parks Benjamin.
Parks is a family name for H, and I really like it, but I wanted to get feeback on it. We both wouldn't be opposed to changing it to Parker, though I feel like that's more of a girl's name. What do you think about the name Parks? I just don't want to get too attached to a name and then people have really negative reactions to it before it is too late to change.

Re: Thoughts on boy's name
Parks Benjamin is okay. I don't see a huge problem although it does remind me of a butler for some odd reason.
Parker is fine for a boy. I must be totally out of the loop or something because I've never heard of it being acceptable for a girl x.x

Since when is Parker a girl's name???????
I know it's a family name, but Parks is just a little too odd as a first name for me. I think it would be fine as a middle name, Benjamin Parks Lastname. I really like Parker Benjamin though! I have never, ever heard of a girl named Parker, so I am either WAY out of it or that trend simply isn't going on in my area.
Benjamin Parker.
Parks sounds really awkward to me as either a first or a middle name. But I do love the name Benjamin.
I find it an odd name, to be honest. I like Parker better, and I also agree that Benjamin Parks sounds better.
I'm sitting here literally trying to see myself calling out to a kids "Hey, parks!". It just isn't a "name" to me. And then thinking of the person as an adult - same thing. It just doesn't sound right.

I think it's just okay. I'd prefer it as a mn or a nn for Parker.
Parker is all boy to me, but so are Ryan and Elliot, so what do I know?
Hmmm, I used to a babysit a little girl named Parker, so that's why I have that association. H thought it was a boy's name, though.
Thanks for the feeback. I've tried googling Parks as a first name, and, although there are some results that are helpful, most of the top picks are "names of parks", which is so not helpful. And I really don't feel like asking friends and family, because then they'll start asking questions about being pregnant.

Baby Evangeline is here!
Parker is a unisex name. it is on both boy and girl lists.
I think Parks sounds like a nickname that one of his friends might call him for short when he is in high school. Just my two-cents.
Good luck when you start trying!

I actually like it! It has a nice ring to it and has meaning to you and isn't too out there.
My first thought was Rosa Parks, and that's not a bad reference either!
