Southwest Gate Check - Q

When you have a stop but no plane change with Southwest, what happens to gate checked items?

I'm gate checking our stroller and have one stop.  No plane change though.  Do I need to get off to make sure the stroller is loaded back on for the second leg of the trip?

If you gate check and the plane stops, they tag it w/ the final destination, just like if they gate check your suitcase.

Thanks!  Makes sense.  (It says a lot that I question whether the airline will do the logical thing!)

Actually if you gate check you get to choose whether to send it to final destination of get it at the stop. We gate checked a stroller and was asked if we wanted it at the stop and we did. So they got it out for us to use to change planes.
