How long did it take you to plan and get prepared for your LOs first birthday? I'm the kind of person that wants it to be kind of a big deal since it is their first, and I do have a lot of close friends and family, so the guest list will probably be around 40-50 (including kids). I have 2.5 months until their first birthday. Should I start working on stuff or am I just getting over-eager
Re: First birthday - how long to plan?
if you want to have a party of that size you'll need to start yesterday
I slowly started to buy things like tablecloths, paper goods and utensils a few months ahead of time. If you plan on doing a theme, I would start to get ideas now.
Are you planning on feeding everyone? If so, I would plan on something super easy. Ordering huge subsandwiches, chips, and pasta salad would feed a large group. Other meals that we do (I have an extra large family) shredded BBQ sandwiches and Ham/
I just whipped out a list of friends and family and everyone's kids who I thought would want to come to their first birthday. 54. Crap.
I am planning on feeding everyone, so I'm thinking BBQ in the crock pot (or pots). And I could probably get my sisters, MIL and SIL to prepare some sides. I guess I better get going!
