Zicam ok?

Has anyone asked their doc if you can take Zicam? I feel a cold coming in and Zicam has always been my savior in the past...but I have no idea if it's ok.

The only meds my doc suggested are robitssuin dm, sudafed, and tylenol cold.  I had a recent cold too and thought about zinc cough drops but they can be associated with pre-term labor later in pregnancy so I wanted to stay far far away.  Zicam's named for the zinc in contains..

I'm pretty sure we are supposed to stay way from extra zinc during pregnancy...you can always Google or call your doctor to make sure.

You should call your own doc to check, but no, my doc said Zicam is NOT okay.  Too much zinc is bad.  She said I can have 1-2 Cold Eeze lozenges per day, but that's it, and Zicam is not recommended.

I also heard extra zinc is bad, but I will never take Zicam again. I took it once and then I couldn't smell anything for a month. It was the weirdest thing.
