Here's my list:
- mattresses
- carseats
- stroller
- dresser
- changing pad for top of dresser & covers
- hangers
- rocking chair/glider
- garbage pail
- diapers
(basically all we have is the two cribs and the clothes/blankets from our shower)
His response --
Why do we need a garbage pail/can? Can't we just throw the diapers in a ziplock and toss them in a box or something and he'll take the trash out every morning? Really, a box????
Diapers -- but we don't even know what size we need. Shouldn't we wait until the babies are here to buy diapers? Um, no -- I don't feel like going to the grocery store on the way home from the hospital but he volunteered to do it so no diapers.
I totally expected a discussion around the dresser or rocker, but diapers or a garbage pail? Am I crazy or are these no-brainers?
I don't even know what to say -- those were some of the least expensive things on my list ![]()
Re: DH's view of my "must have" list
We don't use a diaper pail. ?They gross me out. ?We either take the diapers outside to the trash can or, if it's at night, we put them in a plastic bag and take them out first thing in the morning. ?I personally don't think a few trips a day to the garbage can is a big deal, but ours is right outside in the garage so it's really not that far.
I wouldn't buy too many diapers right away, either. ?You won't know in advance which brand you'll like best. ?I like Pampers but my sister swears by Huggies. ?I think it depends on you child's body type and your own preferences. ?It's a good idea to buy some in advance, of course, but I wouldn't go crazy.?
