My LO is a month old and I'm starting to pump more often. When to pump ? Right now I pump after he is done eating sometimes from one and sometimes from both. Is this ok?

I pump both breasts in the morning after she feeds from one side (supply is naturally it's highest). Then I have added in another 1 to 2 times per day of pumping both breast right after she feeds on a single side. It's totally ok to do. Just know that the more you empty your breasts the more milk you will make. I am doing this because I will be going back to working FT+ the first week of February just to have a frezzer stash for groth spurts, illnesses, etc.. I am now freezing 7-10 oz a day on top of all her feedings, which I am amazed at. I had such a horrible start to BF my son (he was in NICU for a short time), but I kept at it for 6 months and was only able to pump enough for one bottle of BM a day total. When I added the third pumping session in this week I experienced engorgment all over again.

I pump twice a day - both times I pump both breasts. I pump in the morning after his first feeding, and then I pump in the evening to make up for the bottle DH gives.
Any other time a bottle is given I'll pump to keep up my supply.
When DD nursed one side I would pump the other. When she started nursing both sides I would pump about every other feeding. It takes alot of time to nurse and nurse and pump and pump. When I'd get done it was almost time to nurse again.
