would water help with constipation? or just with hydration? i mix his formula and food with water so i figured it was enough and he hates his sippy cup and drinking from a glass..well you know....
I just got a pamphlet about feeding for 6-12 months and it says not to give them more than 4 ouces of water (I am sure that means water that is not mixed with formula) a day. But they don't need water right now because of formula or breastmilk. I have heard juice helps. I guess it should be diluted with water though. In the pamphlet I have it said 2 oz of juice mixed with 2 oz of water.
I can't be of much help though. I haven't given my LO much water or any juice and she poos regularly, so I don't have to worry about constipation problems.
Re: how much water should they be drinking?
He's 7 months. Don't expect him to want the sippy cup right now.
Formula/breastmilk for the first year. Intro the water/sippy as a fun thing right now.
Yup this. If he has constipation issues take it up with the pedi to see what they rec or you can try a small amount of juice that sometimes works.
