A "Babys first Christmas" ornament?

I keep seeing this on TB that it bugs people. What am I missing here? I have already gotten like 3 of these ornaments and they are all adorable. I think its so sweet that people went out of their way to pick up something like this for me.

Am I in the minority?

I've always been the type to have a certain decor when it came to christmas trees. I never put personal ornaments because it didn't match.  This time is different because I have so many "first ornaments" it doesn't bother me at all.  I will probably not put them on the family tree next year but I will put them on a personal tree for Cooper.

I don't mind but I probably won't use all of them every year. I'm not into mass production ornaments (Hallmark) so those will live in a box until Ade moves out. I ordered her a custom one that I plan on using year-to-year.

I'm with Britt. It doesn't bug me in the sense of "I wanted to buy them their baby's first Christmas ornament!" Because I wouldn't buy one. They just aren't my style. I'm all about a style & color coordinated tree. I do put those ornaments up on the kid's tree in the playroom (towards the back of the tree, shame face) I will save them for keepsakes to pass onto each kid. My SIL gets a Godchild ornament for DS every year that I'm saving for him.

I agree with you MarSam the gesture is very sweet and thoughtful of someone!

Ditto, ordered one on Etsy.  We already have enough Hallmark ornaments from MIL, she bought H an ornament every year growing up, some of them are so weird, like cars & santa jogging, I've never known H to jog.  They are not allowed on my tree!

This is my tree too. I never thought about people having a theme and it wouldnt match. Those of you with an organized tree would die if you saw mine. lol

When I was 7, I made this ornament out of a melted plastic cup in sunday school. It has glitter all over it, my name at the date. My mom gave me a box of my childhood ornaments when I got married and confessed to me that she hated that thing from the get go, because it looked like a bed pan to her. LMBO.

I think its so funny that its in a very prominant spot on the tree. lol

Our tree is a fug mishmash on purpose. Our topper is the creepiest, ugliest thing ever.

No, I'm irritated becuase I've gotten 3-4 smug, "I got this on clearance last year" 2010-dated selections and 2 2011 1st Christmases. Way to rub it in, butthole.

Yes I totally cringe and near pass out everytime I see that tree in your siggy.

I honestly think every tree is beautiful, because I just love the season that much. My tree preferences are totally driven by how my mother raised me.

I doesn't bother me.  I am a control freak over our living room tree and for that reason SD has always had her own tree in her room which we decorate with Hallmark ornimants.  I have bought her one every year since she was 3 and I just add the ones that my mom bought me to help fill in.  I plan on Ellie having her own tree with her own as well.

It wouldn't bother me at all. But TBH, no one really buys us anything anyways...lol. Bunch of Scrooges in my family.. But if it was fugly I would either not put it up or put it in the back. I do have a theme to my tree. I'm a Libra and all, so everything has to match. Lol.
