Or should I just pump and give it in a bottle? She was glued to me all weekend and I BF'ed her Sun night about an hour before my fever hit. I REALLY don't want her to get this flu. Since then I've been home during the day and she's been at daycare. I see her in the morning for about 20 minutes and at night for about 30 minutes. I'm trying not to kiss her face.
Re: I'm still BF'ing DD... that's ok, right?
I think it's great. Wash your hands before and try not to kiss her sweet face (OMG that's so hard to do!!).
While you're nursing, think about all the good antibodies she's getting from your milk!!
Of course it's ok! As for getting the flu, do you have a confirmed case of flu or just a really bad cold? A lot of people think they have flu but it could be any number of viruses.
Has she had her vaccine for flu? Regardless, if you have flu or not, you've already exposed her to what you have and I think the breastfeeding is actually going to help her avoid infection, what with antibodies and such being passed to her.
I called my GP and told the nurse my symptoms and she said it sounds like the flu. I am not congested at all, just nauseous, have fever with cold chills and sweating, horrible body aches and pains, and a headache on and off. She has had her flu booster but not the second shot. I was supposed to take her in for it last Friday. Although, I am not sure it would have helped as I also had my flu shot about a month ago.
