low grade "teething" fever....

it feels like my LO has been "teething" forever! over a month ago he had a runny nose/ear pulling - pedi checked him out to rule out ear infection, said he was fine must be teething. now today he has a low grade temp 100.7 and runny nose - again the pedi diagnosis is teething. this is the first time he has had a temperature. when oh when will these precious teeth be here????? any correlation between the low grade temp and soon appearing teeth in your LO's??

  • My LO does this. She'll get a low grade abou 48hrs before a tooth pops through. And horking. All. Over. The. Place.

  • We only have one tooth so far (er, LO only has one - DH and I have more), but he did seem to get a low fever for the day before it popped out.  I think he has another lowish fever right now, actually, and he's pretty cranky.  Maybe another one's coming.
  • Starting at about 6 1/2 months Chloe had a teething fever on and off for almost 2 weeks...and her tooth just popped out two days ago...she did get super fussy the day before her tooth popped out at night, she was a little warm a few days last week but not warm enough for me to take her temp.

  • Teething doesn't cause fevers. That's an old wives' tale. I would side-eye a pedi who told you the fever came from teething.

Lots of children who are teething wind up with a fever because they put everything into their mouth, and their bodies may be fighting off one bug or other.
