If you are a VBAC candidate, why/how did you choose to have a RCS?
I had a c/s with DD due to fetal distress, and I am thinking ahead to baby #2 (not pregnant yet). I am a VBAC candidate and am leaning heavily toward a trial of labor the next time around. However, my c/s experience was a very positive one- no complications or prolonged pain.
From my research, I am more comfortable with the risks of a VBAC compared to the risks of a RCS, and for this reason, I am leaning toward a VBAC. I am trying to see both sides of the equation (to be sure I am making the right decision) so please share your reasoning to have a RCS instead of a VBAC. TIA
Re: If you are a VBAC candidate...
She's looking for people who chose to have a RCS when VBAC was an option, so she probably won't get a lot of responses on the VBAC board.
OP, I had a VBAC and am very happy I did, but I can see advantages to RCS too--not stressing about whether you will just end up with a c/s anyway, less chance of uterine rupture, knowing what day you will deliver, etc.
I am choosing a RCS, and am a candidate for VBAC, honestly, my reasons to choose to RCS may be someone else's reason's not to. I am terrified of labor for nothing again. I like the idea of it being scheduled, knowing when I will go to the hospital, and what to expect. And as sad as it sounds, a rcs gives me 2 more weeks of paid std, which i know should not be a reason, but in reality it is.
I think you need to choose what is right for you, regaurdless of other people's reasons.

I was a VBAC candidate... until today. I had my 40 week appt today and we discovered my baby that was head down is now breech. She's also measuring 9.4 lbs. (My last was 9.6)
When VBAC was still an option, I did occassionally consider a RCS simply because our last delivery was so traumatic. Honestly the unplanned CS was the least traumatic part of the whole experience. Going through all that again (especially since I knew in the end I could just have another emergency CS) was terrifying.
Now that I'm no longer a candidate, I'm bummed. Big time. But now I at least know what to expect.
It is a very personal decision. Good luck to you!
