If Tylenol is keeping my temp down, can I go to work?

My temp was at 101.8 last night, complete with sweating and shivers.  I felt a lot better today until the Theraflu started to wear off.  Now my temp is rising again. I am taking another dose right now. The nurse at my GP told me not to return to work unless 24 hour fever-free as to not expose anyone else.

WWBsD?

  • NO!! If your temp's only down with meds, you're not really better. Pleeeease don't go to work sick! No one wants it!

    Also, feel better soon :)

  • Nope.  I take fever free to mean that your body is fever free WITHOUT medicating.

Stay home.  Don't infect the masses at Christmastime, yo!

  • fever=contagious.  Stay home, possibly work from home, if that's an option for you.

    Feel better, love!

    Thanks, dear.  And everyone else.

My boss said I could work from home, but to use hand sanitizer when handling the files.  :)

  • Nope. 24 hours fever free without the help of meds. Don't infect your coworkers right before the holidays. :)

But if you don't get better, get only worse, and lets say end up in the hospital then you're missing a lot more work that you don't have the time to miss. Stay home, rest and hug your DD extra tight as you nurse her (post above). Get well!!

  • Your symptoms sound like it could be the flu and if so you're contagious until you are fever free. Explain to your boss that you don't want to get the rest of your coworkers sick with something as bad as that. I don't know how many days you've been sick but if it's only been 1-2, call your doctor for some Tamiflu. It can shorten the flu's course. Hope you're better soon!

I did.  They wouldn't prescribe it.

Not to worry, anyone, I am still home.
