Sleeping Question

Hello there -

I have six week old twins and they are fantastic.  BUT... I am having a hard time adjusting to getting them on the same schedule.  When one baby wakes up, we wake the other one up too...even if she just fell asleep recently.  I feel like this is the best way to keep them on the same schedule plus if I don't do this, I will be feeding all the time.  I feel bad though!  Is this what you did?  Suggestions?  When did you twins start sleeping in shifts longer than three hours?

Re: Sleeping Question

  • One up, both up. That was and still is our rule. Sometimes if it took much longer for the other to go to sleep, I'll let her sleep another 30 minutes, but much longer then that and I risk getting them off schedule.

At 4 weeks my girls were sleeping 3-4 hours at a time at night. By 8 weeks, they were sleeping 4-6 hours and by 12 weeks they were STTN. you'll get there!!!

  • I swear week 6 was the hardest week for us.  After that things started to get better. My boys slept about 4-5 hours at 8 weeks, 8 hours by 12 weeks and 12 hours right at 16 weeks.
