We are taking an 8 hour car trip one way for Christmas. One of my friends told me she has bottle fed her baby while she was sitting in her car seat. She said since she is kind of sitting up in the car seat she would burp on her own and they were able to keep driving. Anybody else try this? My 5 week old baby has trouble burping as it is, but I am all for keeping driving if possible.
Re: Bottle feeding in car seat?
My family lives 5 hours away and I fed him in his car seat when we went up when he was 2 weeks old, and again when we just went this past weekend. Sometimes we will TRY to plan to stop for gas, a snack, bathroom etc, when he will be just finishing so I can take him out to get a good burp, change his diaper, and let him stretch on the seat before we get on the road again. It seems to work for us! He can sometimes last a little longer between feedings in the car b/c he sleeps most of the time, I usually put him in a sleeper so he's comfy and put a light blankie on him, I also make sure his paci is on a clip so I can find it easily if he loses it!
Good Luck and have a safe trip!! Happy Holidays!!
