Ugh yes. DS just started this. I am a teacher for 3 year olds and I have a bunch of them that are into growling/grunting right now. On Friday, between DS and the students, I said "don't growl at me" too many times to count!
Yes, my daughter started doing it around 4 months... we call it "beast mode" after Nyjer Morgan of the Brewers.... (she started around the time they were in the playoffs)...
I'm glad to hear other moms say this! Our DS has been making a weird sound lately that I was having a tough time describing. But it totally is a "growl". Does your LO's growling tend to escalate into crying? Or is it just something they do for fun? DS seems to eventually get to crying if I'm unable to respond to his growling quickly enough (if I'm driving or whatever).

My sweet DD sounds if she is possessed when she growls also! She is sick and I thought she was trying to clear her throat but she does it all the time! lol
Re: Growling
This cracked be up. We've been calling him D-Rex (instead of T-rex because his name begins with D)
