cramps and tightening

For the last hour or so I've had tightening of my belly and some cramps that go with it.  I have a doctors appointment at 3:30 and I assume if it continues until then I'll talk with her about it or it will get worse as the day progresses and I'll realize they are contractions.  I am not doing anything strenuous, just sitting at my computer sipping on my water!  However, this feels different then the BH I've had previously.  Anyone else have any experience with this?
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

    BH contractions get stronger as you get closer to the end of your pregnancy (not for everyone).  I've been experiencing this since last week (36 weeks).   Dr.s not concerned because I've had a normal, healthy pregnancy... it's just my body gearing me up for the real deal.

    I personally would not wait for the 3:30 appointment.  Things can progress pretty fast and you are not full term, yet.

    Cramps plus tightening sounds like contractions to me.  Good luck.

    Thanks ladies.  I am glad I'm not the only one.  My doctor said any day starting tomorrow she will consider me full term and wouldn't stop labor if it started so I'm not too worried about that.  It seems to have slowed down in the last little bit so we'll see what the rest of the day brings.

    I've been having these since last week (those didn't hurt so bad), but they are worsening this week. I have an appt tomorrow, but OB says if the contractions literally don't incapacitate me to not worry about them. I don't know how sound that advice is, but it's what I've been doing! Keep that water coming!
