Pleeeease tell me I'm crazy!

Ok ladies, I need your two cents! To give you a background, SO left me when I was two months pregnant with DD at the strong urging of his mother, but we got back together shortly after DD was born. She has continually tried to discourage SO from spending time with me and our daughter but in extremely passive aggressive ways. Well, I have about had it up to here with this woman, now she mysteriously has a "heart condition" and NEEDS him to come to her home 16 hours away for Christmas, but I'm NOT welcome. He has actually decided that he has to go because he doesn't want to have conflict with his mother. Soooooo he is okay with missing our DD's first Christmas, because "she won't remember". Am I just being overly hormonal about this or am I in the right for demanding that he spends her first Christmas with her? Please talk me off a ledge ladies!

I think he's wrong, but its hard to cut the cord between some men and mommies. Your daughter is beautiful. 

I think he should tell his mom that she either gets both of you or neither of you. Then its her choice, not his, if he stays with you. She could have had him, but she chose not to because she doesn't like you.

Thanks for your comments ladies! It infuriates me to think that she is trying to punish me by denying our daughter. I am to the point where I just don't want her in DD life. I have done nothing but try and bend over backwards for this woman and yet she seems to dislike me and try to drive a wedge in our relationship. He needs to put on his big boy pants and man up to her! Grrrrrr...

Seriously stunning and I'm totally with you on this and I like Canuck's suggestion. Both or neither and it's her choice. She has to live with the consequences.

100% this.  If it's really that bad, she will want her son there no matter what.  It's also BS to pull this 6 days before Christmas.  Sorry you're dealing with this and I have to agree with everyone else.  Your DD is gorgeous!

I am so sorry, you are not being harmonal and your SO is being pretty crappy.  He is choosing his mom for Christmas and is not sticking up for you.  That says a lot about the type of person he is and how he truley feels.

You don't have to accept this type of treatment or relationship...
