So, I know there's one of these posts every day, but we made it to 6 months!
It has not been an easy trip- I got mastitis when my milk came in; I got thrush from the antibiotics; LO lost 15% of her birth weight, so I had to pump and dropper feed her before they'd discharge her from the hospital, and then we went to several weight checks with LCs; we used and weaned from nipple shields while they were still concerned about her weight loss; LO refused the bottle so I took extra time off of work; and now here we are and I wouldn't change it for the world! I love our nursing relationship.
In this past week, we started solids, so weaning has officially begun. I also returned to work and LO's working on drinking from a cup. My initial BFing goal was 1 year but I've been thinking more about letting her choose when she's done.
For those of you still in that tough beginning- it gets better! Hopefully nursing will grow to be something you and LO love, like it did for us.
