According to Dr. Google it's approx. 50,000 calories burned during labor/childbirth. That seems astonishingly HIGH but what do I know.... Of course it depends on a million different things, like fitness of the mother, duration & intensity of labor, etc etc but just curious if any of you ladies have heard anything more about this.
Re: Calories Burned during Labor/Childbirth
that does seem high, but i guess when you think about it, all of the work your body is doing with contractions, moving the baby, etc... there is a lot burned.
i wonder if my doctor would accept something from dr. google as a reason to allow me to eat during labor
