Austin Babies

is it possible to love an small appliance? Personal blender rave.

After the magic bullet thread a while back I decided it was time to get one of these....but I wasn't sure about the quality of the magic bullet. Well, turns out Cuisinart makes a version and they have a $20 mail in rebate on them this month. So I got one at bedbath and beyond for $50 minus 20% and then with the mail in rebate, it will be $40.

I love love love it. My big kitchenaid blender is great but what a pain in the a** for a smoothie, especially since the flax seed would stick to the canister and be almost impossible to remove. Since i bought the Cuisinart, I've had a smoothie almost every day. It's so easy to clean up! Love love love.

Now to find some more creative smoothie ideas-post em, if you got 'em. So far it's been bananas with frozen peaches and frozen berries I've bought at costco (what they had in organic) with yogurt/skim milk/soy milk, splash of apple juice.

Thanks for the recommendation. I plan on having a lot more smoothies in the morning. Does this one also have the ability to make it and take it to go?
  • Fly, yup, that's the one. And Nessia, yes it does. It has two blades sets, one that can be attached to the travel cups and make the smoothies directly in the cup and another one that's permanently attached to a bigger canister like a regular blender. There's 4 travel cups and it also comes with a mini canister to grind nuts and spices in.

    Love it!

  • My fav smoothie is to take frozen dark red cherries, a scoop of greek yogurt, and chocolate almond milk and blend. Sooo goo, it tastes like a chocolate covered cherry.

  • Ohhhh, thanks for this! I have really been wanting to get into green smoothies, but my blender would make it way too much of a PITA. I have a GC to BB&B, so I think I know what I am going to do with it!
