OB/GYN Rec. for B. North or Anderson Mercy

Hi, I'm new to this board. I'm looking for OB/GYN recommendations for these two hospitals. I have an appointment scheduled for the OB/GYN clinic at B. North, but my DH is going to be starting a new job with new insurance. I'm not sure exactly what will be in network, but I thought I'd do a little research. I might be interested in a midwife. I also would like a hospital where you can stay in the same room for your entire stay. I don't think this is true of B. North, but I don't know about Anderson. TIA for any input! :)

Re: OB/GYN Rec. for B. North or Anderson Mercy

  • I go to Associates of Anderson and have delivered both of my children at Anderson Mercy. There were 3 midwives at Associates of Anderson and two doctors. One midwife moved to Texas this past summer and one is on maternity leave. So there is only one there right now. I'm sure they are in the process of replacing the one that moved though. And the one on maternity leave should be back very soon.

I've had wonderful experiences, both with prenatal care and L&D. Anderson Mercy is wonderful. The birthing suites are great and both my babies were in our room from the time they came out until we left the hospital.

Let me know if you have any specific questions and GL!

  • I delivered my babies at Anderson Mercy as well.  Ditto PP on the birthing suites and the lactation consultants there are awesome.  I can not say enough good things about the lactation department there.  Overall, my experience with the L&D dept there was wonderful.  I go to Seven Hills and Dr. Fleming is my primary.  But Dr. Fesenmeier delivered DS and Dr. Zabrecky delivered DD.  They also have midwives, but I don't know much about them since I've always seen the docs.  GL!

This.  Only, I saw the midwives at Seven Hills and had a wonderful experience with them (Holden delivered my son and is who I see for annuals).  I absolutely LOVED my L&D experience at Mercy Anderson.   Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Where is the office located? What was your L&D like with the midwife?

It's in the Mercy Healthplex directly across the street from the hospital, super convenient!

L&D was great, I was not the typical first time birth though.  My water broke at 2:30am (2 weeks early) and my son was born 8 hours later.  I progressed very quickly and I had a (planned) epidural around 5/6cm and it was smooth sailing from then, I actually had to hold off on pushing b/c the MW was doing another birth next door.  But she was great when I was pushing, very encouraging and helpful.  My L&D nurses were also great too.  If all my birth's are like the first I'd have lots more babies!

I have not really heard a negative thing about any of the MW's at that Seven Hills location.  They are very supportive of whatever birth plan you might have (med-free, epidural, etc.)

The office is located on Beechmont Ave. just a few miles away from Anderson Mercy. Both of my deliveries were WONDERFUL with the midwives. Very calm, easy, talked me through everything. And ditto PP about the awesome laactation dept at Anderson Mercy!

I am also considering B. North. I am considering 'Seven Hills Women's health center' and  'Group health associates'. Which doctors would you recommend for  near Mason/Montgomery area. Anybody?

     any information will be helpful.:)

btw.. do you guys get a notification when new reply is added to a thread? May be I should ask my question as a new thread?

I went to B North for my delivery and used Group Health. I see the doctors in Kenwood (I LOVE THEM) - I primarily see Dr. Buckley but love Dr. Samol, and Dr. Lewis as well. There is one other that I only saw once Dr. Badawi but she is also good. Dr. Lewis delivered me and was wonderful. They all were very helpful and always willing to take the extra time I needed. B North experience was great as well. I didnt feel rushed at all ever and had great lactation support.

  • For B North, I woudl suggest Seven Hills Women's Health Centers. They have the locations below and this is their #(513) 922-0009:

    10506 Montgomery Rd, Ste 403
    Cincinnati, OH 45242

    9312 Winton Rd
    Cincinnati, OH 45231

    2859 Boudinot Ave, Ste 101
    Cincinnati, OH 45238
