Can a stretch mark get worse?

I just noticed two small light-ish ones, but I'm wondering if they can get worse if I get bigger? I'm guessing I'll probaby get a couple more before the end, but just wondering!

Yes, they usually grow as you grow... (sorry!)

Sadly, yes. In fact, some of my faded stretch marks from my last pregnancy have expanded. Good times.

I have one large one dead center on my belt line that is a killer.  I swear that sucker is getting bigger and wider the way that it feels.  Also, my belly button ring (where it was) has a huge stretch mark right through it that has gotten worse...booooooo.....

Yes, but they do fade quite a bit.

Yes... mine are. They are all right below my belly button and the main one is getting wider and it's buddies are popping up around it. The main one looks like the Chesapeake Bay with all of its little rivers branching off of it... Just showing my Maryland pride I guess.

Ugh, you ladies are talking about one or two stretch marks?!

I can't even count mine. They extend from one hip, over my belly, and wrap around to the other hip. They are giant, red, and angry.

I'm genetically prone to them (I had them on my thighs and breasts from growth spurts when I hit puberty... fun times) so I knew I'd get them in pregnancy.

As to the OP's question: Yes, they will fade over the course of a lifetime... just not yours ;-P (Seriously though, they do fade. Don't worry too much about them.)
