CJs Wool wash/ lanolizing questions

So I lanolized my soakers and longies with CJs wool wash in Pink sugar (yum!), but I heard that it isn't really enough for a bulletproof method. How should I re-lanolize? Do I just add lanolin to hot water and soak again? Can I add more lanolin to the CJs to prevent this from happening in the future?

Re: CJs Wool wash/ lanolizing questions

  • This is how I do it:

Squeeze about a half inch strip of lanolin (more or less depending on the size of the item) in a bit of hot water in a sink.  I then use a fork to break it up and then add a small amount of wool wash to break up the blobs.  Then add water to make it room temperature and soak for at least 15 minutes.

There are  other methods that involve squirt bottles, but this is the easiest way for me (our water comes out hot).

  • I haven't used CJ's wool wash, but I use another wash with lanolin added and it works fine unless I'm trying to use the wool on DS overnight. For daytime use I just use the lanolizing wash and call it good, but for overnight I use a separated lanolizing rinse to get them feeling pretty tacky.
