Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Help--Teething & Ear

Good Morning everyone!! Please tell me more of you are in the same boat as me.. My son has been teething for the past two months.. No teeth yet but loves to chew on everything and always get red cheeks. The past four nights, he has been getting up every hour to two hours crying in pain. He has had Tyleno or Advil infant and still is in pain.. He pulls on his ear every once in a while at night but i know ear pulling is also linked to teething.

He is going to the Dr tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone esle is in my boat. During the day he is fine, He is my happy baby. So a part of me doesnt think it is an ear infection because he is fine all day!

He normally goes to sleep at 7:45 and sleeps until 4-5 then has a bottle and then goes back to sleep. Now he is up at 9, 10:30, 1230 and 2.

anyone elses babies doing this??? HELP!!!

Re: Help--Teething & Ear

  • My DD has been teething and pulling at her ears. Her behavior changed too (refusing to go into crib; waking up a lot to cry and fuss), but she had no fever. I called the Dr. and they said to bring her in. She didn't have an ear infection, but they have no way of knowing other than examining the ear canal. Hope your LO feels better soon!

  • Yeppers! DS had the same thing going on. The ENT said he had some fluid in his ears from teething. He had me give him some otc allergy med in a small dose. It really helped. After 3 days, DS was back to normal.

  • We are going through the exact same thing.  It's been going on for weeks now.  She used to STTN perfectly from 3 months until 7 months.  Now, for the past month she wakes up 3-4 times a night, hysterical crying.  The only way to calm her is to lay with her in a regular bed. She's SO fussy at night time and doesn't really want to move during the day.  I brought her to get checked out but they didn't see anything - they think she is teething (she pulls her ear too).  I don't get it - her other 3 teeth came in fine. I am beyond delirious at this point lol...you are definitely not alone!
