what a fun day!

So, today we had a baby shower. I know, 2nd baby, same gender, not considered normal, but that was discussed in depth a while ago on the baby shower boards, so please no random flames ok? There were good reasons.

Anyway, wonderful day, Almost all my gal pals who I hardly get to see came. My DH cooked and made awesome from scratch food. Meatballs, artichoke dip, focaccia bread, pasta salad, sugar cookies and apple cider. He is the best! and a great cook too, everyone was thrilled with the food.

We all hung out, caught up, there were presents but they were not the focus, and I had everyone(well most of them) decorate onsies. That was wonderful! I now have about 10 hand decorated, totally unique, special because they cared so much onsies!

 Now to wash the clothes, build the crib and wait for the baby to make her appearance.

How fun!  

I don't get the big deal over 2nd showers. It's standard practice in my family and culture, so no flames here.  I think it's nice to celebrate every pregnancy and every baby, albeit perhaps with no as much grandeur as the first baby shower.

Exciting!

I think every baby deserves a nice celebration in his/her honor, regardless of whether or not he/she is a second baby!  I am all for showers for second babies, etc.  There are always new and exciting things to buy for babies and who doesn't love an excuse to see good friends and family and eat delicious food?
